What is a Spiritual Retreat?

A spiritual retreat is an opportunity to take a break from your everyday life, to rekindle one’s soul through growth in your relationship with God.  It is an opportunity to spend uninterrupted time in spiritual reflection, to fully engage with our Lord by stepping away from the daily demands  you face, to refresh  your spirit through prayer, contemplation, meditation, and relaxation.  It is an opportunity to open your heart and soul to God and receive his healing grace and renewal. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

What Types of Spiritual Retreats are offered?

Directed Silence Retreat

A directed silent retreat  is an opportunity for the participant to voluntarily set aside a time to commune with God and to grow more deeply in that relationship. Directed Silent Retreats can last from 3 to 8 days. During this type of retreat, you will endeavor to remain silent,  providing you with an opportunity to reflect inwardly and process your thoughts in a calm, constructive way. An experienced spiritual director will serve as a spiritual companion throughout the  retreat. You will meet with them each day to discuss and share what has taken place during the day including retreatant’s feelings, thought and actions. Both retreatant and retreat director will take this opportunity to discern God’s movement in the heart of the retreatant.  This will be an opportunity to  further explore your spirituality and perhaps reflect on areas of focus and prayer. View this as an occasion for the participant to set aside time to listen to the voice of God and examine what is in your heart.

Preached Retreats

A retreat made with a group during which regular sessions are scheduled for talks to be given by a retreat master or by multiple speakers . who offers a series of conferences or talks on a theme.
